its been 45 years since i last blogged. okay i lied – 3 maybe?
i am trying to find some sort of balance so i can do this more. i know i won’t be able to blog every session or maybe i should be but i truly would like to start because i love to look back and see more than the 4-5 images i put on facebook.
this past fall i had the honor of photographing over 60 families. photographing families is truly my passion. every family is different & i love to witness their love. i love to watch daddy pick up his little girl or momma look at her growing young boy in awe. we snort laugh. we pretend that spiders grow out of my ears. my mouth and tongue are perfect for pretend tootin’.
i love real smiles.
i love real emotion.
i love real love.
i love drool.
i love skinned knees and dirty shoes.
i love anything that makes your family unique.
i love that you have a god given special child that you have never had a good picture taken of him/her & you are trusting me to give that to you and damnit i will. i will give you FIVE.
i love the sun and how it kisses the edges of your hair while your husband whispers something very silly in your ear. (former clients — you know allllll bout dis.)
i love your family.
i do my best to capture these things in every.single.session i do. otw to my sessions i blast whatever moves my soul for the day. it could be jigga man, the zac brown band, sam smith, outkast, john legend, eric clapton or don henley. i love it all and it all inspires me. i call it my game day prep. if i know i have three little boys under the age of six, i know that i have to make sure my fart noises, turtle jokes, minecraft knowledge is all on point.
if i have two twirling princesses you know i am practicing ‘let it go’, trying to remember olaf and all his silly jokes & figuring out the latest toy doc mcstuffins fixed.
i take this SO serious. i love every second. i work alot. i put alot into my business and sometimes i just want to keel over but to be completely honest — i have NEVER in my life been happier than i am today.
the session below was part of my fall portraits. mom wanted to save these images as surprises for her family so i never posted to facebook. so glad i can share now!
life is beautiful. capture it.
